Improved Efficiency
Currently, the handling of air cargo requires a number of inefficient, labor-intensive steps that begin at the shipper's side and follow on all the way until receipt of the shipment by the consignee. The Cargobox Container System is the intelligent answer, and blends state-of-the-art technology with the most recent requirements intro what can truly be called an "intelligent container".
Carbon Footprint
Less time required for Pallet Build Up and Break Down
Within a few minutes, a Cargobox can be assembled and disassembled, minimizing time and unpleasant labor. The usage of standard dimensions and the easy handling of the Cargobox accelerate the loading/unloading process and cuts out two bottlenecks in handling.Door-to-door ('D-2-D') Shipments instead of Airport-to-Airport Shipments
The actual transcontinental flight takes some 12 – 14 hours, and D-2-D delivery of an air cargo shipment takes on average some 4 – 6 days. Approximately 75% of the total time, cargo is sitting idle, waiting for the next party in the logistic handling process to start its activity. Integrated Forwarders already have demonstrated that the one stop ship principle is a superior alternative.Faster Customs Clearance
Upon closure and locking of the Cargobox at the shipper's site, all relevant data is stored in the shipper's EPCIS Database. From that moment on, information can already become available for, amongst others, Customs clarification. This will shorten the time required to finalize Customs inspection upon arrival at the airport of destination.E-Docs to reduce Logistics Paperwork
Reading data through the Lockbar eliminates the need for paper documents and a number of time-consuming actions. The electronic reading of data directly through the Lockbar prevents mistakes and human errors. KLM Cargo says that paper shipping documents cost some €30 per shipment, and will be included in the Cargobox shipment lease sum.Collapsability allows for efficient repositioning
Fully collapsed, the Cargobox is approximately 23 cm high, resulting in a stacking factor of 7. This stacking factor allows to efficiently allocate Cargoboxes, since demand between markets will never be entirely symmetric. Even collapsed, the Lockbar fits exactly between bottom panel and cover. This ensures fully secured and traceable empty return, and eliminates the risk of losing individual side-wall panels.Carbon Footprint
